As I See It is a column for 600 word essays, preferably written by authors who are experts, working in the field on which they are writing or with first-hand experience of their topic. All run with a picture (head shot) of the author and a tag line identifying the author to readers (usually occupation or organization affiliation and city of residence). It is best to try to get essays to the editor at least ten days in advance of any time element involved in the topic.

Submissions for As I See It may be sent by e-mail to oped@kcstar.com (text in body of e-mail or as a Microsoft Word attachment with the picture attached as a separate JPEG file) or mailed to:

Be sure to include a one-sentence author description, including city of residence, and daytime phone number. All submissions are edited, may be republished in any format and become property of The Star.
