Rick Rieder, a senior administrator at Millikin University in Decatur, Ill., has been named vice president for administration at the Kansas City Art Institute.

He succeeds Ronald Cattelino, who is retiring Feb. 15 after 42 years at the institute. Rieder will start Feb. 1, the art institute said Thursday.
Rieder is vice president for finance and business affairs and board treasurer at Millikin. He earned a master of business administration degree from Regent University in Virginia Beach, Va.; a master’s degree in music from Oklahoma City University; and a bachelor’s degree with a double major in business and music from Baker University in Baldwin City, Kan. Before joining Millikin, Rieder was vice president for finance at Malone University in Canton, Ohio. He has also held administrative positions at Greenville (Ill.) College; Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion; Lancaster (Pa.) Bible College; and Bryan College in Dayton, Tenn.
At the four-year college of art and design, Rieder will oversee finance, facilities, safety and security, human resources and the college’s auxiliary enterprises.
