His recently released first book, Nathan Turners American Style: Classic Design & Effortless Entertaining (Abrams, $40), is about barefoot, fuss-free living with high style. The 224-page book is divided into three sections: coastal, city and country, with images of his own Malibu home, his mothers house in Tahoe and the residences of actors Ione Skye, Amanda Peet and Adrian Grenier.
His rooms have a running theme of casual gallery walls, seagrass rugs, ottomans and global textiles.
The book includes party ideas everything from an Argentine grill dinner to a Mexican taco fest to a kids pizza gathering as well as tabletop design, centerpieces (he praises undervalued carnations) and recipes.
Turners passions for entertaining, decor and travel are apparent, and he makes it all look easy to achieve.
