Chiefs passing offense (F): The two Brady Quinn interceptions ruined the day for the Chiefs.
Chiefs rushing defense (B-): A strong effort until Vick Ballard got loose on third down late in the game.
Chiefs passing defense (C+): Andrew Luck was 6 for 8 on Indys fourth quarter TD drive.
Chiefs special teams (D+): Between a missed field goal and strange decisions on returns, another subpar day.
Chiefs coaching (F): The final offensive play, on third and 8, was a handoff to Peyton Hillis.
First quarter
Key play: Darius Butler returned an interception 32 yards for a touchdown to put the Colts ahead 7-0.
Key stat: The Colts had just 26 yards but still led 7-3 at the end of the period.
Second quarter
Key play: With the Chiefs at the Colts 16, Jamaal Charles fumbled and the Colts recovered.
Key stat: The Chiefs had 245 first half yards, but only three points.
Third quarter
Key play: Jamaal Charles ran 86 yards for a touchdown on the first snap of the period to cut Kansas Citys deficit to 13-10.
Key stat: The Chiefs had the ball for more than 9½ minutes.
Fourth quarter
Key play: With the score tied, Brady Quinn was stuffed for no gain on fourth and one from the Indy 27.
Key stat: The Chiefs punted with 2:39 remaining and never got the ball back.
Player of the game
A second 200-plus yard game for Jamaal Charles and his third TD of 80 yards or more.

The Chiefs were minus-3 in turnovers against a playoff team and were still in the game in the fourth quarter.
