Kansas State-Florida preview

No. 8 Florida vs. Kansas State

•  WHEN/WHERE: 7 p.m. Saturday at the Sprint Center

•  TV/RADIO: ESPN2; WHB (810 AM)

•  ABOUT FLORIDA: (8-1): The Gators are off to an impressive start including victories over Wisconsin, Florida State, Marquette and Central Florida. If not for a last-second loss at Arizona, Florida would be undefeated. The Gators have advanced to the Elite Eight in back-to-back seasons.

•  ABOUT KANSAS STATE (8-2): The Wildcats weren’t able to play with high energy for 40 consecutive minutes against Michigan or Gonzaga. Rodney McGruder scored a season-high 26 points last time out against Texas Southern, and K-State looked more comfortable running Bruce Weber’s offense. K-State’s schedule has been odd this year. If Weber could rebuild it from scratch, he says he would schedule a more challenging opponent early and do a better job of spreading out games. Nino Williams is expected to play Saturday after missing time against Texas Southern with a shoulder injury.
