The Kansas City Health Department temporarily closed Sung Son a Vietnamese Bistro late Friday afternoon due to “excessive” roaches.
The restaurant, at 4116 Pennsylvania Ave., can not reopen until they demonstrate that they have effective pest control methods in place, the restaurant is re-inspected and no live roach activity is witnessed by the inspector.
Restaurant officials could not be reached for comment this morning.
Sung Son was cited for 10 critical violations, including live roaches in food bags underneath the prep table, on the wall behind the water heater in the kitchen, and inside egg roll packages in the kitchen.
