Key play: Travis Benjamin returned a punt 93 yards for a touchdown to put the Browns ahead 10-7.

Key stat: The Chiefs had just one first down in the period.

Third quarter

Key play: Eric Berry dropped what would have been an interception on the first possession of the half. The Browns eventually scored a touchdown.

Key stat: The Chiefs had just 28 yards.

Fourth quarter

Key play: Trent Richardson’s 1-yard touchdown run early in the period gave the Browns a commanding 27-7 lead.

Key stat: The Chiefs were zero for three in converting third-down plays in the period.

Player of the game: Jamaal Charles had another big game, rushing for more than 100 yards for the third straight week and the fourth time in five games.

Reason to hope: The Raiders now might be as bad as the Chiefs are.

Reason to mope: Things got back to football Sunday and the reality is the Chiefs are a lousy team.
