Two men sought after McDonald’s employee shot in Leawood robbery

Leawood police are seeking the public’s assistance for information after a McDonald’s employee was shot during a robbery attempt late Saturday.

The incident occurred at 11:15 p.m. in the restaurant at 119th Street and Roe Avenue. Police said the employee was shot during a confrontation with two men who tried to rob the business. The men may have driven away in a white or silver SUV.

The employee was taken to a hospital for treatment. The employee’s condition was not available.

Police described the robbers as two black men in their 20s. Both had medium builds. One was said to be about 5 feet 8 inches tall and had dreadlocks. He wore a dark gray zip-up sweatshirt with a gray shirt underneath.

The other man wore a red hooded sweatshirt with a white sleeveless shirt over the top and a baseball cap that was light-colored in front and dark-colored in back.
