A writer for the Oregonian in Portland tweeted this afternoon that the Timbers had acquired Sporting Kansas City defender Michael Harrington for allocation money.

Sporting forward Teal Bunbury then tweeted: "All the best to my brother @mikeymomoney2 in Portland. Gonna miss you my man. Know you're gonna do big things there"

This was all news to Harrington, whose Twitter handle is @mikeymomoney2.

When contacted by The Star and asked about a possible move to Portland, Harrington said: "I haven't heard anything about that, no."

The MLS trade window opens on Monday.
