Simple black is for the birds.

The little black dress is getting a glitzy makeover this season, says Annette Pinter, owner of Garment District Boutique in the Power & Light District, who stocked her store with shimmering LBDs for the holidays.

“The dress is the jewelry now,” Pinter said. “Throw on simple earrings and you’ve got an outfit.”

From tiny black to shiny black, the theme of the updated LBD seems to be glam. Sequins, beads and jewels twinkle as metallic accents glisten in gold or silver on almost every black dress on the racks. Pinter pins the return to glitter on other eras.
