Updated: 2012-11-16T16:25:55Z

Thieves broke into a Kansas City jewelry store overnight and made off with an undetermined amount of merchandise, police said.

The break-in was discovered early this morning at Brookside Jewelry, 306 W. 63rd St. Police said the store’s alarm system triggered about 4:30 a.m.

The front glass door of the business was broken out and several jewelry cases inside were damaged. The owner told police that he could not tell what had been taken until conducting a merchandise inventory.
