Winona State, Lindenwood on tap for Mineral Water Bowl

Lindenwood will play Winona State of Minnesota in the 47th Mineral Water Bowl on Dec. 1. Kickoff is scheduled for noon at Tiger Stadium in Excelsior Springs.

Winona State finished 9-2 overall and in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. The Warriors set a conference record for total yards in a season with 5,182 for an average of 471.1 yards per game. They are led by running back Rayon Simmons, who ran for 1,657 yards and 18 touchdowns.

Lindenwood finished 8-3 overall and 7-3 in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association. The Lions are 16-6 in their two seasons in NCAA Division II after moving from NAIA. They are led by Denodus O’Bryant (1,251 rushing yards, 11 TDs) and Andrew Helmick (57 catches, 1,162 receiving yards, 12 TDs).
