Olathe woman accused of attempted murder

A 48-year-old Olathe woman charged with attempted first-degree murder made her first court appearance Thursday in Johnson County District Court.

Renae M. Rowley allegedly used a handgun to shoot at a man as he lay in bed in Olathe on Oct. 13. He was not injured. Court documents do not indicate her relationship to him.

Her bond was set at $25,000, and she was ordered to have no contact with the man while on bond.

Her attorney, Tom Bath, said that Rowley turned herself in and “looks forward to her day in court.”

Her next court appearance was scheduled for Nov. 15.
