KC-area blood drives to help East Coast
October 30
The hurricane has forced the cancellation of about 100 American Red Cross blood drives in 11 states along the East Coast, resulting in a shortfall of more than 3,200 units of blood and platelets. Officials are urging donations in areas unaffected by the storm.
Those interested in donating blood can do so:
• 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., Legends 14 Theatres, 1841 Village West Parkway, Kansas City, Kan.
• 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., Fireman’s Union Hall, 322 S.E. Douglas St., Lee’s Summit.
Those unable to attend these two events can schedule an appointment to donate by visiting www.redcross.org or calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767).
