$40,000 recovered in Clay County thefts

Some $40,000 in stolen vehicles and other property have been recovered from investigations into theft rings in Clay County.

The sheriff’s office said in a Friday news release that the probe closed at least six cases involving burglaries, larcenies and other thefts. Sheriff Bob Boydston said the work, done in conjunction with law enforcement in Kansas City, Libery and Excelsior Springs, identified two theft rings and he expected charges to be filed shortly.
