Kansas State fans will continue to see basketball, baseball and volleyball games on various Fox Sports channels.

After some negotiations that a Fox Sports spokesman described as dead more than a month ago, Fox Sports and Learfield Sports, the multimedia rights holder for K-State athletics, have struck a deal that will enhance the Wildcats’ third-tier television package and keep K-State games on Fox Sports Kansas City and Fox Sports Midwest for the next few years.

K-State announced the deal on Wednesday, but offered no specifics on the length or value of the deal. Fox Sports will televise nearly 60 broadcasts, including early season men’s basketball games and up to 20 women’s basketball games. A complete schedule will be released in the coming weeks. Other programming will include the Bill Snyder Show, the Bruce Weber Show and the Deb Patterson Show, as well as a preseason football special. Fox Sports Kansas City has been televising K-State sports since 2003.

The new agreement also allows K-StateHD.TV to stream games that are not selected for distribution by Fox Sports.

“We are pleased to announce this new multi-year agreement which will maximize the exposure and visibility of our programs and student-athletes throughout Kansas, the Midwest and the entire country,” K-State athletic director John Currie said in a statement. “This partnership with Fox, as well as our continued growth with K-StateHD.TV, will afford our fans significant opportunities to watch and support the Wildcats.”
