This is not DIY dip and dye. Updated, intricate tie-dyed designs are showing up on runways and celebrities, such as Minka Kelly. You can find the ornate and colorful prints on everything from denim to cocktail dresses.
Its a joyful fall trend, said Katy Hamilton, owner of Shopgirls Boutique.
Tie-dye is more accessible than ever, she said. Its not just festival wear anymore.
Hamilton suggests pairing a fun and casual tie-dyed piece with something more intricate, such as a lace skirt or a structured jacket for a chic contradiction.
She also recommends adding feminine accessories to tie-dyed attire for a dressed-up, hippie look.
