Unleash the luster: Gold and silver brighten up fall fashions.

The look of precious metals just makes a piece more … precious. But simple shine can become blinding quickly. For fall, stick to one metallic piece per look, says Missy Hutton, owner of Two Chic Blvd. in Overland Park.

“Take the rock-star shiny piece and use it with a regular everyday item that you would normally wear,” says Hutton, who suggests pairing a metallic gold top with a trusty denim piece.

Gold and silver tones are heavyweights in fall fashion. They’ve been a mainstay for a few years, but this time they’re on everything from jeans to floor-length gowns.
