Police identify motorcyclist killed in crash with utility truck

Police this afternoon identified the motorcyclist who died Sunday night after colliding with a Kansas City Power & Light Co. truck as Willie J. Clark, 45, of Independence.

Clark was headed east on U.S. 24 east of Sterling Road about 9 p.m. Sunday when the crash occurred. His motorcycle collided with the utility truck as it was turning from a private drive at a shopping center.

Clark was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The truck’s driver, who was not injured, was interviewed by police and released.

The crash remains under investigation.
