COLUMBIA — Missouri announced Friday that the Tigers’ season-opening football game Sept. 1 against Southeastern Louisiana will be broadcast on pay-per-view for $39.99.

The broadcast, which will be in high-definition, will be made available in the state of Missouri and spillover markets. Southeastern Conference television contacts dictate that when none of the league’s television partners option to air a SEC school’s game, the school is allowed to air the game on pay-per-view.

The telecast, which will be produced by Fox Sports, will feature Dave Armstrong doing play-by-play and former Missouri quarterback Corby Jones as his color analyst.

• The school also announced Friday that former star wideout Jeremy Maclin has a created a scholarship in his name to benefit future Missouri football players.

The Jeremy Maclin Football Scholarship will be awarded to Missouri natives, with a preference given to student athletes from Maclin’s alma mater, Kirkwood High School, and students who have demonstrated financial hardship.

“My time at Mizzou was life-changing, and I want to help provide that same kind of experience for others for years to come, so that they can see just how special of a place it is,” Maclin, now a Philadelphia Eagles star, said in a statement.

The endowment also seeks to reward a student who carries a 3.5 grade-point average or better, demonstrates “exemplary” character or serves their hometown or Columbia in a positive manner.

Maclin was a first-team All-American at Missouri in 2008 and 2009.
