On Wednesday, the Major League Soccer Player’s Union released updated salary information including summer signings for every MLS team. There were no major surprises for Sporting Kansas City.

Midfielder Julio Cesar is still KC’s highest-paid player ($252,000 in base salary), followed by veterans Paulo Nagamura ($250,000), Aurelien Collin ($210,000), Kei Kamara ($210,000), Jimmy Nielsen ($200,000) and Bobby Convey ($200,000).

There have been three changes to KC’s roster since the last time the figures were released in May: Sporting added Serbian defender Neven Markovic ($90,000) and locally-grown midfielder/defender Kyle Miller ($33,750); KC waived fullback Shawn Singh ($33,750). Recently released midfielder Luke Sassano ($81,000) is still listed as part of KC’s roster.

The salary information for Kansas City’s latest signing, midfielder Oriol Rosell, was announced after the figures were released. As per club policy, the team didn’t reveal the terms of his deal.

Among the best deals for Kansas City: In-form forward Jacob Peterson ($81,000) and starting leftback Seth Sinovic ($60,000). You could argue that MLS All-Star Graham Zusi ($105,000) is still a relative steal given his rising stature in the league.

While KC didn’t splash the cash, many of its rivals did. The big spender in the East was the Montreal Impact, who added Italian forward Marco Di Vaio ($1,937,508) and Italian defender Alessandro Nesta ($225,000). The Vancouver Whitecaps led the way in the West, shelling out for Scottish duo Kenny Miller ($1,239,316) and Barry Robson ($596,499).

The Columbus Crew added Jairo Arrieta ($225,375), he scored the two goals for the Crew against Kansas City last weekend.

The salary information for Australian forward Tim Cahill, who signed with the New York Red Bulls late in the transfer period, was not included in the release.
