— Cornerback Brandon Flowers has a bruised foot and didn’t practice with the Chiefs this morning but coach Romeo Crennel said Flowers wouldn’t be out of them lineup long.

“He probably will not work (in this afternoon’s practice) and we’ll treat it and rest it and then he’ll get back out there pretty soon, hopefully,’’ Crennel said.

Flowers was injured in Tuesday night’s practice. He was taken off the field and to the locker room before the end of practice.

Flowers was replaced in the starting lineup by Travis Daniels, who had been working mostly at safety during offseason practice and the first few training camp practices.

“He knows every position,’’ Crennel said. “He’s a pro. He understands every rep is important. He’s in tune to the game, he’s in tune to practice and every time he gets a chance to go out there, he goes out there.

“He’s watching all of them and if one of them decides he needs to come out, he’s in there. I have to pull him back sometimes.’’
