Well-dressed man robs Independence bank

A dapper criminal, sporting a dark suit, a straw hat and a black laptop computer case, robbed an Independence bank Saturday morning, the FBI said.

According to a statement from Special Agent Joel Sealer, the robber entered the Bank Midwest at 11507 E. 23rd St. about 11:30 a.m., displayed a black handgun and demanded money from tellers.

He last was seen walking east from the bank.

The robber wore a wig and glasses, Sealer said. Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS (8477).
