Reserve offensive lineman Rob Bruggeman was assaulted over the weekend in Des Moines, Iowa, according to the Des Moines Register.

Police witnessed the incident and said the attack was unprovoked. Bruggeman had a cut to his upper lip and complained of pain around his nose and mouth but declined medical attention.

Two men were charged in connection with the incident.

Bruggeman has not been practicing with the Chiefs this spring because of an injured finger. Bruggeman joined the Chiefs late last season as a member of their practice squad.
