The Kansas City Star
Anton Beard, a 5-foot-10 point guard from Little Rock, Ark., became the first member of Missouris 2014 mens basketball recruiting class when he gave a verbal commitment to the Tigers on Friday night.

Beard is one of four players on the team who visited Missouri coach Frank Haith and associate coach Tim Fuller in Columbia last month and left with scholarship offers.
The others are four-star 6-7 forward Leron Black, rated by Rivals as the No. 20 overall player in the 2014 class, 5-9 point guard Chris Chiozza and 6-7 combo forward Marcanious Hymon.
