Brett, Bo, Sweeney to play in All-Star softball game

George Brett, Bo Jackson and Mike Sweeney will be among the participants in the All-Star Legends and Celebrity Softball Game to be held July 8 at Kauffman Stadium as part of the All-Star Game festivities.

Also scheduled to appear in the six-inning game: Ernie Banks, Joe Carter, Andre Dawson, Rollie Fingers, Rickey Henderson, Mike Piazza, Ozzie Smith and Dave Winfield.

The game will also include celebrities, still to be announced, from motion picture, music and television industries. It will conclude a doubleheader that begins with the All-Star Futures Game, which features many of the game’s top prospects.

Tickets for doubleheader can be purchased by calling 1-888-FanFest, the web sites of all 30 Major League clubs and at the Kauffmann Stadium box office.
