Olathe police said this morning that they are looking for a red Volkswagen Beetle that was in the area of a weekend shooting that seriously injured a teen.

The gunman shot a 17-year-old boy in the abdomen about 10:40 p.m. Sunday in the 200 block of North Walnut Street. The boy’s injuries were serious but not life-threatening.
A complete description of the gunman was not available. He was described as being in his late teens to early 20s.
Based on their investigation, police are now looking for a red Beetle with Wyandotte County license plates.
The vehicle might have a softball-sized dent and chipped paint on the right rear fender. It also might have a sticker in the rear window.
Police said the vehicle was involved in suspicious activity near the same location before the shooting.
