The vowels a club whose set is fixed,
Where A and E and I are mixed
With O and U the fabled five;
So dare not ask to join their hive.
But comes along the letter Y
Which deigns that very task to try;
Chagrined, the five recoil, aghast,
To think another letter asks!
Were special! (hear these letters howl);
No word exists without a vowel!
The letter Y had answer dry;
The question posed by upstart: Why?
