Today’s trendy boots aren’t designed for dirt and mud. Despite their lack of grit, fashion cowgirl boots are becoming a staple, says Jess Holland, clothing manager at La-de-da Boutique in Zona Rosa.

Holland suggests wearing a pair of boots with a short dress, maxi dress or skinny jeans for spring. They are available in a wide range of colors and styles, some with studs, glitz and embroidery.

The only “don’t” to donning a pair of versatile boots is taking your cowboy look too far.

“Don’t pair them with plaid shirts,” Holland says. “It looks like a rodeo. And leave the big belt buckles at home.”
