First half • Key play: With the score tied 24-24, Missouri seniors Marcus Denmon and Steve Moore ignited a 7-0 run by connecting on a pick-and-roll that ended with a dunk by Moore. The run gave Missouri a 31-24 lead at halftime.
• Key stat: Texas A&M likes to play physical, but the Aggies became the latest team to be outrebounded by Missouri, as the Tigers won the battle of the boards 15-8 in the first half.Second half • Key play: Denmon’s killer three-pointer with 35 seconds left extended Missouri’s lead to 68-60 and put the game out of reach. • Key stat: Missouri shot 60 percent in the second half, and went five for 10 from three-point range. The walking woundedSenior guard Matt Pressey rolled his ankle in the second half and went to the locker room with 13 minutes, 6 seconds remaining to get it looked at. He returned to the bench walking somewhat gingerly and did not return to action.“He tweaked his ankle, but I think he’ll be fine,” coach Frank Haith said. “He’s had a sore ankle pretty much the whole year.”If Pressey isn’t available to play Tuesday against Kansas State, that will leave the Tigers with six scholarship players.• Junior guard Michael Dixon continues to light up the scoreboard. With his 15-point outing Saturday, Dixon is shooting 65 percent from the field his last six games.“We have a lot of guys who can break down a defense, so it’s just really hard to defend,” Dixon said.• Missouri’s coaches were wearing buttons in support of a national prostate cancer awareness campaign called “On the Line,” which began Saturday and lasts through Feb. 26.• Missouri senior Ricardo Ratliffe struggled Saturday, scoring only four points on two of five shooting to go along with six rebounds. He was also yanked in and out by Haith a variety of times.“Ricardo’s a valuable guy, he just didn’t have his night tonight,” Haith said. “But hopefully he’ll have it on Tuesday.”Missouri plays host to Kansas State on Tuesday.Read more University Of Missouri
