First half• Key play: Kansas made its first six shots and took advantage of matchups in the backcourt when Elijah Johnson, Travis Releford and Tyshawn Taylor all scored inside before the first media timeout.
• Key stat: The Kansas benched logged a total of 31 minutes. Giving starters a rest was part of it, but so were two fouls on Thomas Robinson and Jeff Withey.Second half• Key play: In an unwatchable second half, a pair of blocked shots by Withey on Jordan Tolbert on successive possessions was the highlight.• Key stat: Kansas reserves did their part, scoring 18 of their 31 points in the second half.Second half introA power surge caused a video board malfunction and prevented the ear-splitting pregame historical montage that precedes the KU player introduction. The problem was quickly fixed and the Jayhawks came on to the floor in the second half to the production.But the board was fixed in time to run a clever production comparing Thomas Robinson to actor John Travolta. The clip even drew a smile from Robinson, but not from coach Bill Self.• Jordan Juenemann knocked down his first three-pointer of the season on his way to a career-best seven points.
