•  WHEN/WHERE: 7 tonight at Allen Fieldhouse in Lawrence

•  TV/RADIO: KMCI (Ch. 38); KCSP (610 AM)

•  ABOUT TEXAS TECH (8-17, 1-12 Big 12): The Red Raiders haven’t given up on the season. They won their first Big 12 game a week ago against Oklahoma and led Texas A&M by nine at halftime before losing on Tuesday. … Jaye Crockett came off the bench and scored 12 points against A&M. … In the Jan. 11 meeting with KU, Texas Tech stayed close for 15 minutes before falling 81-46. … Robert Lewandowski, a Blue Valley West graduate, received first-team academic All-Big 12 honors for the second straight season.

•  ABOUT KANSAS (21-5, 11-2 Big 12): In conference play, Tyshawn Taylor (18.5) and Thomas Robinson (17.8) rank 2-3 in scoring behind Texas’ J’Covan Brown, and Jeff Withey is the fourth leading rebounder (7.2). Withey is the only starter above 70 percent at the free-throw line (85.1 percent). … In Monday’s 59-53 victory at Kansas State, the Jayhawks scored fewer than 60 points for the first time since 2009.

•  RPI: Texas Tech 239, Kansas 5

•  BOTTOM LINE: Expect Texas Tech to run down the shot clock as much as possible before thinking about the basket. It worked for a while at Lubbock earlier this season before the Jayhawks ran away late in the first half. Kansas should dominate in all phases, and coach Bill Self should get his bench, especially point guard Naadir Tharpe, more minutes.
