Too much to ask
MUNDAY ON MONDAY
Too much to ask
February 5
Youd think that Im asking for vaultfuls of gold
Or answers to mysteries never yet told;
Astonishing marvels, confounding on sight,
Like spaceships that travel much faster than light;
Or else that Im asking incredible feat
Some labor that Hercules couldnt complete;
Yes, such you would think Im requesting with smirk:
A towering burden, exertion, and work
As judged by reaction at time that Ive paid
Which comes in response to request that Ive made
When all that Im asking its hardly much work
Was please may I have the receipt? from the clerk.
