Best Buy has confirmed it will close one of its Northland stores, at 509 N.W. Barry Road.
It will close temporarily on Sunday and reopen Thursday for an inventory clearance sale. It will close permanently around Feb. 14.In a statement, Best Buy said: “Hard decisions need to be made to ensure continued growth of our business overall, including how much we pay for leases and evaluation of store performance.”The company declined to say how many employees the store has but said it would work to find them other positions within the company. It has eight other area locations. If the employees choose not to work at a different location, severance packages will be available.According to city directories, the store has been in business at least since 1990.Read more Business
