SALVATION ARMY
Donated diamond to be auctioned
On Valentine’s Day, here’s a way to show your love of your significant other — and others in the community as well.
The Salvation Army in Kansas City will auction off a diamond that an anonymous donor dropped into one of its kettles outside a Shawnee store in December.
The diamond has a European cut, which is no longer used. It is thought to be more than 100 years old. The diamond and setting is valued at about $3,000.
The auction will start at 10 a.m. Tuesday and end next Saturday. Once it begins, the auction can be followed on www.ebay.com by searching for Item No. 280815255278.
