•KEY PLAY: Angel Rodriguez found Jordan Henriquez for an alley-oop dunk that put K-State ahead 20-19 after trailing 13-6 early. •KEY STAT: K-State made 11 of 33 shots from the field.Second half•KEY PLAY: Will Spradling made a three-pointer, putting K-State firmly in control, ahead 53-41.•KEY STAT: Jamar Samuels scored all 14 of his points in the second half.Releford homecoming•Alabama’s Trevor Releford, the brother of Kansas guard Travis Releford, received a warm welcome from the Sprint Center crowd. Releford, a sophomore from Bishop Miege, had 14 points and six assists.•K-State freshman forward Thomas Gipson had his first down game in a while. He scored three points and grabbed four rebounds after leading K-State in both categories in its first seven games.•Senior walk-on Victor Ojeleye played only 9 minutes, but he made them count. Ojeleye came off the bench and helped K-State take a halftime lead by hitting a layup in traffic and grabbing a rebound.•A nearly full crowd, announced at 16,685, turned out to watch the game. The only empty seats were behind the basket and in the upper deck •The Wildcats will play three games on a neutral court in Hawaii this week. K-State is 1-1 on neutral courts this season. It lost to West Virginia in double overtime last week in Wichita.
