So long to Jack Gage restaurant on Main Street

Jack Gage has closed.

In February, Gregory McGee Co. LLC filed suit against Blair Hurst and Russ Hurst for fraudulent and negligent misrepresentation, seeking more than $2 million. The Gregory McGee Co. has owned the Jack Gage building at 5031 Main St. since the 1970s.

It said it was "falsely induced" to lease to the Hursts based on material representations regarding their financial stability, restaurant experience, business plan, and business and restaurant construction experience. That case is still pending.

Blair Hurst - the great-grandson of a bootlegger on one side of the family and a bare-knuckle boxer on the other – opened the boxing themed Jack Gage in late 2009 after spending three years developing the concept at 5031 Main St.

He also had the former Baja 600 space at 600 Ward Parkway, and KC Masterpiece Barbecue in Overland Park, which have since closed.

Blair Hurst could not be reached for comment Friday evening.
