Everyone loves a snowball fight. Even pro athletes.
The Kansas City Star
During SNOWPOCALYPSE NOW in Kansas City, Sporting Kansas City forward Kei Kamara (who just returned to the city from much, much warmer climes) offered a simple Tweet pining for a snowball fight.
A few Tweets later, he had a snow fight on his hands. And now, the snowball fight (I'm sorry, the #specialKCsnowmageddon) goes down at 12 p.m. Thursday in the park near the Kansas Repertory Theater (it's on Volker and Rockhill, on the north side of the Rep).
One of the fans that initially accepted Kei's challenge was Sean Dane (one of the leaders of The Cauldron) who works at the KC Rep with a few other season-ticket holders. After his response and those of several other fans, Kamara enlisted help. He will now be joined by Sporting KC players Michael Harrington, Matt Besler and Jon Kempin as well as broadcaster Dave Borchardt in taking on the fans.
Of course, since Kamara is involved, it's over to Chipotle afterwards for lunch.
