This is really not soccer related, but it's most definitely Wizards related.

Wizards coach Peter Vermes was arrested Aug. 24 in Gardner for driving under the influence.

According to the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, Vermes was arrested at 12:06 a.m. and taken to jail. He posted $750 bond and was later released. He was stopped on the 900 block of E. Main Street.

Vermes has an arraignment date atof 6 p.m. Nov. 9 in Gardner Municipal Court.

Vermes declined to comment when reached by The Star on Monday.
