Kei Kamara’s header off a corner kick in the 42nd minute proved to be the game-winner as the Wizards beat English powerhouse Manchester United 2-1 on Sunday in an exhibition game at Arrowhead Stadium.

Davy Arnaud opened the scoring in the 11th minute for the Wizards off an assist from Kamara. Dimitar Berbatov converted a penalty kick in the 41st minute after being taken down by Jimmy Conrad in the penalty area.

Conrad received a red card and the Wizards played a man down the rest of the game.

They shook off that disappointment quickly when Kamara converted off a Ryan Smith corner kick.

The crowd of 52,424 was the biggest in Kansas City history, exceeding the old record was 37,319 for a game in April 2001 between the U.S. men’s national team and Costa Rica at Arrowhead.
