The Royals finalized their winter 40-man roster on Friday, adding infielder Jeff Bianchi, outfielders Jarrod Dyson and Jordan Parraz, catcher Manuel Pina and pitcher Blake Wood.
To make room on the roster, the Royals outrighted pitchers Devon Lowery and Doug Waechter, designated infielder Tug Hulett for assignment, and requested unconditional release waivers on pitcher Julio Pimentel.
Depending on how old they were when drafted, all players left off the 40-man roster with at least four or five minor-league seasons are eligible for next month’s Rule 5 Draft.
Also on Friday, the Royals signed RHP Jorge Campillo to a minor-league contract. Campillo, 31, pitched just 9 1/3 innings in the Braves’ organization last season while dealing with shoulder issues. In 2008, he went 8-7 with a 3.91 ERA in 39 games including 25 starts for the Braves.

Pitchers (18): John Bale, Brian Bannister, Henry Barrera, Roman Colon, Aaron Crow, Juan Cruz, Kyle Davies, Kyle Farnsworth, Zack Greinke, Luke Hochevar, Dusty Hughes, Anthony Lerew, Victor Marte, Gil Meche, Carlos Rosa, Joakim Soria, Robinson Tejeda, and Blake Wood.
Catchers (3): John Buck, Brayan Pena and Manuel Pina.
Infielders (12): Mike Aviles, Yuniesky Betancourt, Jeff Bianchi, Billy Butler, Alberto Callaspo, Josh Fields, Chris Getz, Alex Gordon, Luis Hernandez, Mike Jacobs, Kila Ka’aihue and Mario Lisson.
Outfielders (7): Josh Anderson, Willie Bloomquist, David DeJesus, Jarrod Dyson, Jose Guillen, Mitch Maier and Jordan Parraz.
