Quotable: Architect Holl on the Nelson

Architect Steven Holl is known for his philosophical ideas about the blending of space, light and bodily movement in making buildings. His plan for the Nelson is different, he says, from other prominent approaches to museum architecture:

“On the one end of the spectrum you have the Bilbao-like icons and on the other extreme you have these dull boxes that suck the life out of the art,” he told The Star earlier this year. “So this is a third way. It was a breakthrough in conception, and it’s turning out to be even better in reality.”
