Union officials are hoping another big regional group of AT&T workers re-entering bargaining this week will spur progress toward a new contract. Nearly 3,000 area members of the Communications Workers of America have been working under the terms of a contract that expired more than three months ago as talks have continued. Items that have prolonged the talks include wages, health benefits and work rules. The company is seeking concessions in some of those areas, particularly in medical benefits, according to both union and company officials.
