Kansas State picked up a verbal commitment from another high school defensive end.</p><p>Adrian Mims from Hickman Mills joins Josh Johnson from Raymore-Peculiar as the second area defensive end to verbally commit to the Wildcats. He is the third player overall to verbally commit to Kansas State.</p><p>&#8220;Academics and the coaching staff were big reasons why I chose Kansas State,&#8221; Mims said.</p><p>Mims, like Johnson, fits the mold of a tall defender, standing 6 feet 7 and weighing 240 pounds. As a junior, Mims played on both the offensive and defensive lines, helping lead Hickman Mills to the first round of the Missouri Class 4 playoffs and a 7-4 record.</p><p>&#8220;It just seemed like the coaches had good personal contact with the players and I liked that,&#8221; Mims said. &#8220;When I was in Manhattan they knew all the players&#8217; first and last names.</p><p>Mims plans to major in electrical engineering.
