Kansas State picked up a verbal commitment from another high school defensive end.
Adrian Mims from Hickman Mills joins Josh Johnson from Raymore-Peculiar as the second area defensive end to verbally commit to the Wildcats. He is the third player overall to verbally commit to Kansas State.
“Academics and the coaching staff were big reasons why I chose Kansas State,” Mims said.
Mims, like Johnson, fits the mold of a tall defender, standing 6 feet 7 and weighing 240 pounds. As a junior, Mims played on both the offensive and defensive lines, helping lead Hickman Mills to the first round of the Missouri Class 4 playoffs and a 7-4 record.
“It just seemed like the coaches had good personal contact with the players and I liked that,” Mims said. “When I was in Manhattan they knew all the players’ first and last names.
Mims plans to major in electrical engineering.
