Texas Tech on Monday hired former UMKC women’s basketball coach Candace Whitaker as its head coach. Whitaker, 33, returns to her alma mater, where she played point guard from 2000-02.
Isaac Kreuer, a 6-10 front liner from Kansas City, signed with the UMKC basketball team, the school announced Wednesday.
Top-ranked UCLA eliminated the UMKC men’s tennis team from the NCAA Tournament with a 4-0 victory Friday in Los Angeles.
The UMKC men’s tennis team is in the NCAA Tournament for the third straight year, and the Kangaroos will face the toughest task in this year’s field.
Shayok Shayok, a 6-foot-8 forward who played two seasons at Bradley, has transferred to the UMKC men’s basketball team.

The UMKC men’s golf team won its second Summit League championship in three years Wednesday at the Sky Creek Ranch Golf Club in Keller, Texas. UMKC senior Korbin Kuehn won his second MVP honor after winning the individual conference title. The UMKC women finished second.
