MU Notebook: Tigers have first three and out of the season
First three and out
Missouri came into the game having gone 48 drives this season without a three and out. At the end of 38 of those, the Tigers scored, including 28 touchdowns. First possession? Unreal. Missouri faced third and five at its 21-yard line when Chase Coffman came up with a one-handed snare of Chase Daniel’s 21-yard pass, pushing the streak to 49. The streak ended on the next possession, however.
•No media publishing a prediction last week picked Oklahoma State to upset Missouri.
•As a player, Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy, a former Cowboys quarterback, was 4-0 against Missouri.
•MU quarterback Chase Daniel wore No. 25 in honor of former MU player Aaron O’Neal.
•Oklahoma State tight end Brandon Pettigrew did not play for the third straight game because of a right ankle injury.
