Spit-gate is over. At least for now.</p><p>Missouri Coach Gary Pinkel and Nebraska Coach Bo Pelini declared an end to the story that started in the aftermath of the Tigers’ 52-17 whipping of the Cornhuskers in Lincoln, Neb., on Saturday.</p><p>Mizzou quarterback Chase Daniel said a Nebraska player spit on him in the pregame, but Daniel wouldn’t identify the player. Pelini said he didn’t know about the allegation until Sunday morning, and the coaches discussed the issue on Sunday.</p><p>“We communicated with Missouri, we investigated, we addressed the allegations and at this point as an issue it’s over,” Pelini said. “A lot of it was “He said, he said.’ ”</p><p>Asked if he knew to whom Daniel was referring, Pelini called it “a little big grey.”</p><p>Pinkel also declared it over.</p><p>“As far as I’m concerned, from a University of Missouri standpoint, it’s a dead issue,” Pinkel said.
