Tony Mitchell, rated the No. 15 recruit in the nation for the 2010 college basketball class, has confirmed he'll play for Missouri.
Mitchell -- a 6-6 small forward out of Dallas Pinkston High School -- confirmed his decision to Rivals.com.
On Friday, while attending Missouri's exhibition victory over Northwest Missouri State in Columbia, Mitchell told PowerMizzou.com:
"Just the family atmosphere. It wasn't even about basketball so much. It was about my future. And the fans were crazy."
MU students chanted Mitchell's name over and over when they spotted him sitting behind the MU bench on Friday night.
Mitchell is expected to complete signing papers by Wednesday, thus joining what is now a four-player recruiting class for Mizzou that should rank among the top 20 classes in the country.
Already signed are point guard Phil Pressey out of Dallas, shooting guard Ricky Kreklow out of Columbia and power forward Kadeem Green out of Charlotte, N.C.
Rivals ranks Mitchell as a five-star recruit, Pressey as a four star and Green and Kreklow as three-star recruits.
