Weatherspoon handled halftime
Senior captain and linebacker Sean Weatherspoon had the floor at halftime in the Missouri locker room.
Weatherspoon talked about focus, coach Gary Pinkel said. And his teammates listened.
“It was quiet as could be in there at halftime,” Pinkel said.
•Missouri senior receiver Jared Perry said quick X-rays did not show a ligament tear in his right knee. Perry had to be helped from the field after a helmet hit him in the kneecap.
•Danario Alexander’s 10 catches gives him 81 for the season, No. 5 on the MU single-season list. No. 1 is Jeremy Maclin with 102 in 2008, then comes Chase Coffman (90 in 2008), Martin Rucker (84 in 2007) and Justin Gage (82 in 2002). … Alexander’s 11 touchdown catches are No. 2 on MU’s single-season list, behind only Maclin’s 13 in 2008. … With 1,238 yards receiving, Alexander is No. 2 and closing in on Maclin’s school record of 1,260 yards receiving in 2008.
•With another sack against Kansas State, Missouri redshirt freshman defensive end Aldon Smith has 10 for the season. That is one short of tying Justin Smith’s school record of 11 in 2000.
