MU’s Lyons will play with Pacers summer team

More Sports:

Leo Lyons, not selected Thursday night in the NBA draft, has agreed to play for the Indiana Pacers’ summer-league team.

“Then we’ll see where we go from there,” said Mark Bartelstein, the Chicago-based agent who represents Lyons and Missouri teammate DeMarre Carroll.

“He may go to Cleveland (the Cavaliers) after that.”

Carroll was taken No. 27 in the first round by the Memphis Grizzlies.

Lyons seemingly was primed for a late second-round selection.

When Dallas took St. Joseph’s power forward Ahmad Nivins as the 26th pick of the second round, Lyons ascended to the top of ESPN’s list of best players remaining.

That’s where Lyons remained, though he is now free to negotiate a free-agent deal with any NBA team.
